Tirana Mayor Erjon Veliaj told reporters at the presentationceremony that electric vehicles serving as taxis were currentlyconsidered as one of the most promising alternatives in Tirana dueto cleanness, zero carbon emissions and low cost.
According to Veliaj, the introduction of electric taxis is partof a city-wide strategy to improve sustainable transportation.
He called on citizens to start using electric taxis as analternative to traditional, polluting vehicles.
"Tirana Municipality has licensed around 800 taxis that causeover 3 Adidas Superstar 80s Metal Toe Doradas Foil España ,200 metric tons of CO2 emissions each year. Therefore, I'mpleased to introduce the first fleet of 100 percent electrictaxis," Veliaj said.
He vowed to revolutionize the city's public transport startingwith testing new electric buses.
